R&D Team Leader

H&HIS’s client is a food & nutrition company based in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, our client is looking for a candidate for the position of R&D Team Leader with the following responsibilities:

Job description
– Research and develop sports nutrition products (e.g. pre-workout, post-workout, protein powders, BCAA, etc.) and advanced nutrition solutions (e.g. immune support, weight control, recovery supplements).
– Collaborate with Marketing and Production teams to formulate new products based on market trends and brand strategy.
– Monitor industry trends in functional foods and supplements; update team on new technologies, raw materials, and ingredient applications.
– Evaluate raw materials and select suppliers based on technical and quality standards.
– Manage product testing, trials, and continuous improvement processes; ensure compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and internal standards.
– Work with medical professionals, nutritionists, and athletes to verify product effectiveness and enhance formulas.
– Improve current product formulations and manufacturing processes.
– Lead and mentor the R&D team (2–5 members), providing training and development support.
– Take on other tasks as assigned by the Director.

Requirements
– At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
– Educational background in Nutrition, Food Technology, Pharmacy, or related fields.
– In-depth knowledge of sports nutrition: energy metabolism, muscle recovery, functional ingredients.
– Experience in formula development, sensory evaluation, and quality standard establishment.
– Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
– Ability to read and understand scientific materials in English.
– Preferred candidates have experience in functional food or sports nutrition industries.
– Bonus points for candidates with a healthy lifestyle and interest in wellness products.
